So, they sold the purple ones, yet know they were going to change over to the black ones? thats pretty shi*ty! get rid of the old stock at least to get the money knowing they would fail. thats business for ya. Ohh well, no probs as of yet on mine.

Business as usual
That's how places like Ross, Nordstroms Rack, TJ Max, etc stay in business...selling the leftovers of the old design. I know X5Girl has had luck w/ the purple, and I don't wanna assume that the same problems carried over into the X5 since the suspensions are probably worlds apart due to the weight differences, but I'm still curious since Greg is the closest I've ever come in contact to anyone at PF is just vendors.

Yeah, but I have read many horror stories about the poly bushings failing prematurely on road cars because they just simply don't seem to hold up as well as traditional rubber bushings on our bumpy public roads. The track seems to be another story where in most cases the surface is much smoother.

The black bushings were only ever to special order and have never been made for the X5. The only black bushings I have ever seen are on multiple piece bushes like those on parts with a rotational element like lower arm or trailing arm bushes where the housing is in black and the rotational part is purple.
Production IS NOT expected for at least another 5-6 weeks and full production much further ahead. There are no plans for any other thrust arm bushing other than the purple ones and the yellow for the subframe. The Superpro bushes are also 3x the cost of the Powerflex.

I'll be fitting my Superpro bushes in the next few weeks once I have all my tools sorted! It will be interesting to see how they hold up compared to the standard ones (which lasted 100,000 miles!)
I'll keep you posted.

Any more info on this thread? Is powerflex a good option over stock or a waste of money?

The Powerflex factory is now up and running and supplying their specialist dealers some limited stock. PhoenixMotorsport as BMW X5 and E31 specialists now have stock of both thrust arm and subframe bushes.
