Yes they do. i had the same issue when i first picked up my X, alarm was going bonkers on the flat bed journey up to CT from FL and the battery died. in the manual it had details for the reset procedure that are similar to the ones mentioed earlier.

something along the lines of what rob said before: (i belive the info is in the owners manual. Owner's Manual - BMW North America)

1. disconnect the battery for 1 minute
2. reconnect the battery, alarm will be blasting for about 45 sec
3. turn key to the second position
4. a 15 minute count down should be activated in display
5. at the end of the 15 min. count down, you should be able to start the X

There may be more detailed instructions in the owners manual.

Yes, I tried it..

In my country (Czech Republic) we have next steps:
1) Disconnect battery for 2 minutes
2) Connect battery
3) Turn key to position one
4) 10 minutes countdown
5) start engine

For step 3 - I tried both positions 1., 2. but countdown is still frozen..

did you wait 10 mins even though the timer is not running?

maybe the key/vehicle lost its programming. i think there is a procedure for that as well. not sure what it is. something similar im sure.

I wait for 1 hour and nothing .

After some studying of this sites....
I think that some unit (navi, VM...) is not correctly coded. Is this possible?

I need a car every day and it is for me a huge complication .

But still... I Love her! ♥
