I had the same setup initially as I built my exhaust setup in stages... The stock mufflers with straight pipes developed a drone in the cabin which was really annoying and it's why I then ended up with stock mufflers with x-pipe.

I since have replaced my stock mufflers with Supersprint exhaust and very happy with the results. But it's louder/throatier compared to stock mufflers.

I did the same thing except I removed the rear mufflers and let the resonator in. I had the same problem where it was getting very annoying so I went back and installed two of these small glass packs. The car sounds very nice and not to loud on the inside but on the outside sounds very nice. By the way I have the l6. Hope this help.

Valentin

These are the glass packs I installed:

LMAO....saw this coming. Just like I said on your thread when you bragged about how you removed the stock resonator for straight pipes - you ruined the scaveging effect of your exhaust. Put the stock resonator back on or put on an x-pipe if you threw the resonator away. Putting stock or some other mufflers back on won't solve your problem because you screwed up by removing the resonator (a muffler w/ an internal x-pipe) and those straight pipes are too long of a run w/ some sort of flow change. I lived and learned w/ my 740iL, so either you can keep doing the exact opposite of what I tell you, or you can live vicariously through my wallet from the mistakes I made.

I told him it was a mistake from day one, but at that point he had to much pride and money invested to admit he was wrong and should have listened. He is the epitome of "live and learn" instead of listening to the advice of others and actually DOING what he was advised to or not to do.
