You might not see the oil for a while if it were leaking. The plate under your engine will cover most of it. You could have quite a bit of oil on that plate before it started coming out onto the ground.

Now at 95k miles , 1st time I put in two Quarts of engine oil LL-01
Last oil change was Jan 9th @ 89k.
Note we have a lot single digit temperature during winter.

Our trip to the black hills ( 2k long drive and loaded trunk)
plus the cold weather since the last oil change are maybe
the two key factors contributing to Oil consumption.

* no low oil level warning
* just visual inspection- the oil is below the minimum level of the dip stick
* one quart was enough to barely hit the minimum level
* added another one quart was enough to barely hit the max level

Good thing I bought two Quarta of oil, 1 Quart of ATF and a permit gallon of coolant
(My feel good "nice to have " at the back of trunk)

Edit: from now on in between oil chAnges and long drives two quarts of engine oil is a "must have" and extra one or two more is a "nice to have"
