Fuel Gauge Needle Not Rising... Help!

My X FUEL GAUGE needle dropped suddenly! Went to put fuel full tank it still remained there - down! I did the Cluster TEST 2 the test showed needle driver is OK and was moving rightward properly (twice) but after the test it still remained down and showing fuel tank empty with light on.

GUYS ANY IDEAS?!

Sounds like the sending unit went bad Your Parts Search Returned 0 Part(s) sender@fuel sender&gid=15594@Fuel Tank Sender (For Gas Gauge) or it could just be a loose connection. Have you had the backseat out recently for anything, and/or checked all the fuses inside the glovebox and rear hatch. Start w/ the simple things.

Yes backseat was removed and put back, a month ago.

Have not checked any fuse yet, will check in the glovebox though have not identified the one at rear hatch. Will check them after 3 hrs from now (my lunch). This fuel thing is really stressing me you know these 4.6 and 4.8 can really drink juice driving one while you guess how far the fuel in the tank has gone is really asking for trouble.

Thanks man

Does the OBC still show a range reading, or has that zeroed out as well? The fuel guage could just be a visual thing for you to see, but I would imagine the OBC is still calculating your mileage based on your driving and distance traveled, so hopefully the range still reads correctly in the meantime.

I checked it told me that Iam remaining with 1.8 liter in the tank... I definately didnt agree with it, possibly it was reading according to what the gauge plus light was saying...dont know... I visited the other thread seem to be a common problem then... one suggested putting full tank would resolve it but I did...alas! It still shows empty!

Just reset your trip meter and don't go over 200 till you get it figured out.

Yes I did reset as soon as I had full tank, though not sure if am calculation would be right i.e. 93 liter tank = 479.4km (about 300miles) taking 19.4l/100km consumption. So by 470km trip meter I should expect my car coming to a grinding halt!
