SFCL Wrote "Hi Marc, sorry to hijack the thread but I'm really intesrested too to adapt a double din radio to my X and I'm curious about what system you got? Does it fit straight forward? Thanks!"

Hey SFCL I ended up landing on the Kenwood DNX6140 unit. Initially I had targeted the Pioneer AVIC line but when I found out that MSN Direct was ceasing operation I deicded to look elsewhere since the AVIC unit depended on MSN Direct for traffic updates (seriously needed here in Atlanta)

I plan to bezel my system using Rich's bezel from this site

http://mybimmer.net

I understand that it will actually change the angle of the unit from the OEM angle which will actually be nice as it will help with glare. I do understand that I will need to do some very minor modification to my dash to get it to fit at this angle but I've come this far so I'm going for the big finish!

I purchased the input cable for the AUX input for my 2002 X5. The cable they sent me says it's for radio with navigation. My X5 does not have navigation. Does that make a difference?
