FYI - BMW only sold ~2800 4.6is in the US. I rarely see them around either. Great vehicle, IMHO!! Expand your search to nationwide. That Seattle Imola looks like a pretty good one to consider. I just love that color on the X5.... Almost as much as I love Estoril

Could be wrong but i believe that may be the total global production number.

Could be. the production data I have read through seems to indicate 1500-2000 sold in the US, but it is hard to tell if that is the total. I would guess that the US must have got 80% of the WW production, eh?

But either way - very rare vehicles pretty much no matter how you slice it.

If you own an X and are not worried about its reliability, I'd say make your purchase . . . can't get much worse.

The Audi is generally a solid car and platform and will not have a bunch of little problems. However, there are several $4K+ common failures on the C5 RS6 cars and some are more than double that, and that doesn't even count the trans which can also fail as any auto dealing with that kind of power can depending how it's been treated. It is a much higher dollar risk vs. an X5 as far as reliability goes.
