I guess the sunroof drain is easy to check...? Just poor water in the sunroof drain, and check if it comes out underneath the car.?

Are there an exit in front and rear.?

Thanks for the all the good tip..

Yep, front is under the truck right behind the front wheels, rear is inside the top edge or the upper hatch opening.

BTW, how do you clear the rear drains if you have a panoramic roof? If you open it all the way then there is no access at all to the rear drains. If you tilt the roof open, which would seem to work, it actually doesn't and gives even less access. What do you guys do, park on a slope with the front of the car considerably higher than the rear and just pour soapy water down the channels?

I went out to the car today and opened the sunroof.

Then i poured a lot of water8much more then what would get in there on a rainy day) and water was emerging under the ar right behind the front wheels, and out on top of the rear hatch..

But there was also some water leaking into the car...

This picture shows where.

It was the same on both side, maybe sligtly more on the right hand side...

The water coming in where not from the same place as i noticed the other day, which means i will be checking out the water barroers when i get the chance...

What do you think about the water leaking from the sunroof drain.? Is there a cracked pipe or something.?

Sionce i have never seen any water coming in during rainy weather, im not sure if i'll be bothered doing anything about it...

It sounds like you just poured the water in faster than it could drain and overflowed the water drainage system... I usually look in the front corners with a flashlight to watch the flow in the drain and make sure I don't overflow it. If it was pouring out normally behind each front wheel the drains should be intact.

Looking at the first pics posted the water coming over the sill/seal should be from the vapor barriers in the doors.

Another note, you really need to get fully under the carpet to dry it too... If you just vacuum and dry the top of the carpet the foam padding molded to the bottom of it will still hold up to a gallon or so of water, which will mold/mildew and smell horrible. If you don't get under the carpet dried the carpets can be ruined. It is easy enough to remove the passengers seat and rear seat bottom to be able to prop it up for it not to be that big a deal. May be a good way to spend a day this weekend.

I think i found the problem today..

I went out to the car and poured water on the window and around the door..

No water was coming out between the panel and the door itself..

Then i noticed that i had a tear in the inner gasket, which i believe is no #1 in this picture.:

The tear is on top of the gasket, which means it is facing up, between the interior and the door, just below where i see the water leaking in.

This gasket has holes all around its perimeter for breathing propose or something. When it rains heavily, there is some rain coming in on the rear of the door, and gets in contact with the inner gasket. If rain gets into the gasket, it wouldn't matter, because the other holes would drain it off.. But when the gasket is squeezed between the door and the body, im thinking that the holes at the bottom are blocked and the water coming in is escaping through the tear.?

What do you think.? Plausible.?

And regarding the water in the back. When i saw the water was coming when parked downhill, i turned the car around and parked it uphill, and i guess the water from the from was running to the aft as well...

I'd maybe pull the seat out (which has to be done to dry under the carpet anyways) and get in there with a bright flashlight and have someone else thoroughly hose it down for a few minutes. That way you can really get down in there and see where the water is coming from. Maybe have the door panel off as well.

Hi.

I removed the door panel yesterday, and maybe i should have started doing that..!

Sure enough, some 10-15cm of the water barrier, was not glued properly to the door.. I do not know what caused this, cause the glue was there and everything, but it just did'nt stick...

I put on some black silicone, and glued it together...

Now, i just have to wait until it starts raining again, to see if the operation was successful..

Thanks for the help Weasel..

Unfortunately I wouldn't expect the silicone to hold to the old glue... I usually remove the barrier, remove the old glue and put a new strip of it and restick it.

Aaah.. So you think this will only be a shorttime solution...?

I used some heavy duty marine silicone, but it might not stick to the old glue..

It's been raining all night, so if it's still dry, i guess it's okey for now, and i have some time to do it properly..

thanks..
