Water leak front passanger side

It was rainy heavily today, and i noticed i got wet on the floor on the passenger side.

It has happened once before, when it was also raining a lot.

In the first photo, i have ringed out the area where the water is coming in... The other photo shows the same spot from a greater distance.

Any thoughts on where is it coming from.?

Sorry about the poor phone camera quality..

If it seems to be coming through the door seal over the edge, it is likely going to be the vapor barrier inside that door either let go or torn, letting water through to the inside which seeps out from between the door and door panel.

If you pull the door panel off (instructions hiding all over the forum) you should be able to find the source easily.

Thanks Weasel..

I had a look again, and it does seem it is coming from between the panel and the door itself.. I took out the rubber plug on the lower part of the door, just under where it leaked, but nothing came out.

I guess i can tell right away if the waterbarrier is intact if i take the panel of...

Thanks..

The same thing happened to me on the drivers side and it turned out to be caused by a kinked up sunroof drain hose. I de-kinked it and problem solved! You can examine this by removiing the a pilar. To do this you remove the plastic airbag badge and unscrew the screw behind it. Then just pull the a pillar off carefully. This would be much easier than removing the door panel so you may want to check that first.

I am pretty certain it is not a drain hose causing it..
The way i could see the water coming in suggest it is behind door panel.

I have taken the door panel off on the drivers door, so it will be okey...

The only problem is that this is a intermitten problem...

I have had it before as said, but then for a long while it has been okey, eventhough it's been rainy plenty.. I also wash the car quite frequently, and i ahve never seen any water intrusion while washing the car.??

A little mystery...

If it is that intermittent all you can do is double check the perimeter seal of the vapor barrier, it doesn't take but a small passage to let water through... and the water has to trickle over that passage/hole for it to leak which could explain the intermittent part of it. Also, they have the plastic retaining clips that hold the door panel on available with foam seals around the protruding clip base to prevent water from trickling through that point as well.

Okey.

I see...

Just noticed that it was wet on the floor in the rear too.. Same side.

If i take the panels off, and spray the windows for a while with water, i might see the leak i guess.?

And if there are clips without the foam, this might cause a leak as well.?

Yes, and I'd check the rear door as well... and the sunroof drainage system. Just to make sure you check all possibilities.
