Ok I went to test drive a 2010 X35d (diesel). I liked it, but in reality I like my X5 inside a lot more.. I dont know which vehicle to buy that I really like, and handles like my X that could tow my boat and have some seats in the rear?? ANY SUGGESTIONS? or keep my X, till i cant take it anymore?

Cheappc, I've noticed you've had several issues with your X just as I have had. And now you're talking about buying another one? Are you glutten for punishment or what? Share your thought process with me because I just don't get it.

As far as suggestions go, I would suggest you go test drive vehicles outside of the BMW dealership. There are far better vehicles in the X's price range or even lower priced and those companies actually value their customers. Run . . . run while you can!!!!!!!!

Not necessarily. They are replacing fewer cassettes now that there are multiple repair kits available to deal with different problems.

To the original poster, have a read through this thread. There are a lot of good SIB's that might be of help.

Unfortunately, your pano moonroof is toast! From what i remember, if you still want to use it, the whole sunroof cassette must be replaced.

Hey guys. I went over a bump on the road today. The sunroof was on flip up position. I then heard a pop and the glass went down to the close position. It opens and closes normally and it makes all the noises as if it was flipping up but the glass wont stay up unless pushed up. Any suggestions?

Even thou I Don't have a Pano Sunroof it was a hell of a fun to read this post. and javierh8 your situation I think shouldn't be as serious as it opens and closes. My friends X is making those noises, Will ask him if he fixed it.

LOL Nik. It sure is weird. The motor operates normally and sunroof opens and closes. Even while moving to the flip up position but still the glass stays shut down. I do not have a pano sunroof thought.

Don't bother with this. Accept that the sun roof will not function. Mine did the same thing. It turned out that the problem is with sun roof cassette. This is the large black rim mechanism which mounts to the sheet metal. It typically needs to be replaced. In order to do that you must remove the headliner and glass. The part is very expensive. BMW quoted around $2000 just for the part. Labor was going to be another $2000. The sunroof, while I love it was not worth $4000 to me. I got the back shut as you did and I just don't touch it anymore

Anyone have this issue?
I don't know if the rear corner of the rear glass was ever flush or if this is new. But walked out to the X today and noticed the sunroof was what I thought was open. Nope, I have the issue with the rear not closing. I managed to manually close it by pushing rearward on the 'ramp' slider thing but yeah. I am worried the corner might leak. What a pain in the ass.
Left rear corner of rear glass panel is higher than the right side

Seal between front and rear glass panels is pealing off
