And yet another tire question.

Hi All!
Been out of touch for awhile, but still enjoying my X Glad to see this forum is still churning along!
So my Mich Diamaris tires are ready for the trash heap. 315/35/20 and 275/40/20 on style 87's. Been lurking around on this forum, and checking Tirerack's reviews in the search for a good summer tire. Living here in SoCal, this car never sees the snow, and only occasional rain. Diamaris were fine, but to me a bit overpriced. I like what I hear about the Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport (non runflat). Any thoughts? They offer several different flavors in these sizes, regarding load range, wear, etc. The rear is rated 106W, the front is available in 102W or 106Y. Does it matter? For those of you who have these, what did you get. I believe there is also a "BMW" oem version available. Yes, no, maybe???
Thanks for your thoughts, suggestions, etc...
Don

I have those and they are the noisiest tires I have ever owned!!! I am hoping for the group buy to come soon! If not I am going to back to my favorite Perilli Scorpion!

Those are the next ones going on my truck when the michelins come off. The original BMW ones you see are the runflats they put on the X5M.

Bridgestone Dueler HP FTW!

That's what came on my X5M when I picked it up 3 weeks ago.
I love this car…

But I miss the gas mileage of my 07 X3.

Yeah, mileage is much worse than the X3, but the fun pedal is much more effective in the X5M! Fair trade if you ask me!

So after many sleepless nights, I finally pulled the trigger on the Bridgestones
Initial impressions are positive. Although it probably isn't a good judge to compare them to the Michelin's with 25k miles that they replaced, I must say I am impressed. Great ride, nice handling, pretty quiet, and great looks! I'll post a more comprehensive review once I have a chance to put some miles on them.
For those with these larger 20" tires, any suggestions on a good starting point for air pressure? The guys who installed them suggested 36 front and 42 rear; seems a bit high to me.
Thanks again for the recommendations!!!
Don

I put the Dueler HP Sports on my 4.4x running 19s last week. I LOVE them. Car rides quiet and feels great on the horrible CT-NY roads. I've put about 300 miles on the tires so far and wish I had put them on years ago!

FYI, my X has 52k miles on it. I got a full 4 wheel alignment with the new rubber, and wish I had done that years ago. The front and rear were all out of whack, and while not perfect now, it's darn near close, and the car feels like new. Better in fact, with the new rubber!!
