That depends.... The E36 M3 came with 17" wheels.. (AFAIK...), so, most likely these 19" wheels are an aftermarket.

That said.....

Interchangability depends on...

1. Lug size
2. Wheel offset
3. Hubcentric size
4. Hub thickness (How long is the lug bolt?)
5. Overall wheel diameter

The stock wheel offset for a 98 M3 is..
41 front, 50 rear

The stock offset for a set of stagger 19" X5 wheels is
48 Front, 45 Rear

If the wheels actually fit without any interference with the brake caliper, or turning clearance, then that's a start...
