First experience with Warranty Direct

Well I have just received a call from my service advisior at Orland Park BMW and it looks like Warranty Direct is going to cover all of my issue on the E53. I brought it in for and clunking noise in the front and a strange trans issue where it didnt like to engage first thing in the morning and a torn outer cv boot. They are going to fix

worn sway bar links
worn suspension parts
ripped cv boot
replace torque covertor solenoid
faulty bowden cable in the drivers door. (froze up this winter thought it was a long shot on replacement)
leaking valve cover gasket

i am also getting a recall performed

this is going to cost me 50.00 for my deductable and 16.00 for fasteners that are not covered.

id say so far well worth the money I paid for secure care plus. I have never been able to use an after market warranty before so it feels good I have one that pays out.

thanks to all of you that helped me make up my mind a couple years ago of which warranty to go with.

Just a heads up...it may not be as rosy with them down the road. At some point, they will begin referring to the fine print as to what they won't cover and they'll begin covering partial cost on OEM parts as they believe they can get better prices with aftermarket parts.

My first couple experiences with them were great but soon after is a different story. Since some of my repairs were more preventative related, we simply agreed to split costs.

Hope you have a better experience.

I had a 4 year deal with WD, and my only complaint is that nothing much
broke/went wrong in those 4 years...

I had 2 minor things needing repair, and they covered it in a heartbeat,
which may or may not have been a result of no claims during my coverage.

I paid a couple Gs, way back then before aftermkt warranties increased
their rates; I was satisfied with them, but was surprised that they "let
me go" so easily at "renewal time". WD does receive generally good reviews
on this Board, fwiw.

I am flying on my own dime, going into year 9+ on my ol' X...

I thought WD would cover some of my cost to repair outer CV boot, Front Thrust Rod Control Arm bushings, and Power Steering Situation Return line, but they said none of this was covered. I thought it was a waste of my $3500 for the same care. I had 0 deduct. but ended paying all out of pocket. Thieves!!!!

You had secure care plus and it didn't cover wear? when did you purchase the policy? i got my in march of 08' They were running a special and i saved about 500.00 plus they bumped me up one notch for the deductible.

I got about the same time just when my warranty was expiring. July 2008. I too got the $500 off and bump in deductible. I paid the $50 ded. price and have 0 ded. My ttl was about $3500.

maybe it was the way the Dealership presented the case. Or maybe the warranty rep didn't know what the hell they were doing.

Ouch.......I paid about $1,500 more for a CPO than private party non-CPO for the same warranty (and rolled it into the 0.9% financing BMW was offering).

Glad to hear that your aftermarket warranty is not dicking you over. Sorry to hear you had to use it though.
