The X5's are nice, but I really love BigGar's 1997 540i. You don't usually see a low mileage, unmolested 540i anymore.

They are owned by some car collector. Maintained by BigGar; lightly exercised, as he says.

I can see collecting some cars, but a 2003 4.6is? That's not exactly special. To pay literally thousands of dollars a year to register it and keep it insured and to have 63 miles on it which in 7 years comes to 9 miles a year (hardly light exercise mind you) is either complete stupidity or a scam.

Here is one buyer of low mileage 4.8is.

Wondered the same thing back in 2003...test drove one and ordered one the same day. It's performance characteristics were definitely special back then and even today, really. Add the fact that global production was limited in comparison to other E53's and i'd consider keeping in the collection. It's a tough one to let go of if maintained well...actually considering keeping mine in the family when i upgrade.

Have you actually driven...or better yet, lightly exercised a 4.6iS?
