Transmission Software Update (After Rebuilt?)

I hopefully will be getting my X back from the transmission shop later today and I just had a quick thought come to mind, I have an 01 4.4i, the shop is doing a complete rebuild and I was just wondering, is there or should i still need to do some sort of software update? I recall users saying that there transmissions "Were fixed" After an update of software, I was just wondering if I should figure out how and if I should update the software even though its been through a complete rebuilt.
