SES Light came on P0036 & P1143

SES light The codes are P1143 O2 sensor activity check signal too high (bank 1 sensor2) and P0036 HO2S Heater Control Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)

I have 2002 4.4 v8 I looked for hose leaks I going to look again this weekend.
I did find another post "what is OBD SES code 1143?" which said
depending on what your driving, check the vacuum hose to the secondary air valve on the front of your exhaust manifold. (EGR kinda thing) the hose gets brittle and breaks there. also check the bigger hose from the air pump to the valve as it is the other common failpoint for the secondary air system.

If its an O2 fault, its most likely a mixture fault (too rich, too lean) and usually isn't the sensor itself, just what it monitors. if its too lean, vacuum leak or unmetered air. I checked the secondary air valve I'm going to check the air pump bigger hose today.

Any other suggestions for the P1143 and P0036

Thanks for the help

I check the secondary air pump this weekend I didn't see or hear any leaks. I also removed the housing for the microfilter and checked those hoses in the back of the intake manifold. I cleaned the mass air sensor and also cleaned out the throttle body while I had it all apart.
Any other suggestions on what to check before I give in and take it to the dealer.

thanks for the info JYosh
I looked at both O2 sensors on both sides they look ok and the wire from what I can see look ok. Maybe I have a bad sensor.
Bank 1 sensor 2 is that driver side cat or passerger side cat I think sensor 2 is post cat (rear).

Thanks

Go Flyers!!!

O2 sensors get old and lazy with time. A visual inspection if the sensors and wires will tell you nothing.

Call around and find a shop that has one of the graphing scanners and check the O2 sensors the right way.

I was only going to replace the one sensor setting off codes, once I removed and saw how bad it looked. I replaced all four oxygen sensors; it’s easy if you have the right tools. Cleared codes ses light is off.
Hopefully it will stay off
