Your assessment is correct: the grandtrek wt m2 is definitely not in the same league as the MZ01. But the comparison is like apples and oranges. The M2 is H-rated (higher speed rating) whereas the MZ01 is Q-rated. The latter has a soft multi-cell compound on the surface that will stick to ice like gum to a shoe and will wear very quickly. I know, I had them on my old E36. The former is designed as a higher performance winter tires that will perform adequately on snow and ice but will also give you that decent performance (ie handling) on the dry surface. It's more of a tradeoff.
