BMW North America Maybe the mkt is diff in your locale, but the dlrs I've driven by seem to have a good inventory of used/CPO Xs. I agree with previous posters to keep looking and avoid falling in love with one. GL, mD

Thanks motordavid. I just checked out the BMWNA site and they do have a good inventory. I'll start keeping an eye out for a nice X5.

If I may suggest please keep looking for a better deal, I recently got a 05 4.8is and I am loving it, it's great for a child seat (infant in my case), also if possible opt for the V8 , i test drove the 3.0 as well and even though the engine is free revving i love the sound of the V8 and the effortless crusing, also with a 4.8 i did'nt have to worry about the options while making up my mind since on 3.0 and 4.4 it was getting tough to keep track of all the options while comparing.

![]() Should not be much fuel savings with 3.0 vs 4.4, at least on paper but 4.4 will typically include more options. I find it hard to believe they can even ask for $31k for an '06 3.0. I bought an '05 4.8 a year ago with the CPO warranty for about that, granted it was not a BMW dealer and it had 48k mi. Good luck and welcome! Scott |

Thanks jbny and tomcat. From my searches, there aren't many e53 4.8is currently for sale (especially CPO). Even for the 4.4, they are asking around $30K. Like someone said previously, maybe the market for the X5 changed.
I am not really in a rush to make the purchase so I'll keep looking. |

Regnout, I was gonna chime in with my .05 worth but the last two posts show that you can get a better deal than the 3.0 you mentioned when you started this thread. I would go definitely go for the 4.8 and you have two to choose from right here. Good luck, this forum has some amazing people who are generous with their valuable knowledge.
