no neccessarily... old belts start to dry and crack and then they screech when they are cold... when they are hot they are pliable again so they quiet down a bit...
the belts are a easy change to diy... |

First thing to do is check your belts.
You can perform a simple test to confirm that it is indeed your belts. -Spray some oil,like WD4O onto to your belts. -Start you car . -If the noise temperarily disappears ,its your belts -If no difference,then it could well be a tensioner as indicated by Vinuneuro |
