The oil filter was original? Pics? How many miles? |

Sounds like the filter hasn't been changed for awhile, but 10 years from date of production is a long time. I wouldn't take a numerical stamp off a filter as proof that the filter hasn't been changed. It could be date of manufacturing, or something else entirely.

As far as i could tell, yes it was the old filter.
I think the shop takes a Oil change litterally and only changes oil. Have pics, will upload later. Miles app. 150000 Last edited by Angeluz; 07-13-2010 at 05:08 AM. Reason: Edit of miles |

You had posted that the service book was stamped by the dealer. A BMW dealer oil service includes the oil filter.
I still don't believe that an original filter will run 150,000 miles. I have seen pictures of filters at 50,000 miles, just not at 150,000 miles and 10 years.

Could you post a graph with the dyno's wideband O2 plot?
Gaskets are good and not letting oil into the coil/spark plug area?

That's another issue i have to repair as well.
There is a small leak in to the coil area. which i will have to address soon. by now it's only a small leak, which i could easily wipe off, but it has started, so i don't think it will be that long of a time before it gets really bad. The plugs and coils were clean before the dyno test. Will try to do a scan of the dyno report. |
