Envy you guys so much, really wish we had clear side markers here in North America. She looks great and nothing wrong with those 17" and ballon tires. They will give you the smoothest ride, the bigger the rims the harder on the brakes. But I love the look of the style 168's

I like that, and...... one need to spoil him/herself atleast once in a life time! People used to tell me why buy a bimmer (my E46!) I asked.. why not? costs... yada yada yada blah blah blah... then voila! I got another one as if not enough... an X5!... now they respect me!....

Havent you (so far) caught other drivers at traffic lights admiring your car, when you look at them, they give you a nod?... now thats RESPECT am talking about!...

That happened to me about the 2nd day owning the car (Truck). i was stopped at lights, looking around and there was a Black X5 (identical to mine) next to me. The driver made a gesture of a lifting his hat.. i was shocked, so i did it back to him and then we took off...

Not the X. They are quite plentiful here. We get looks in the M and SL and it's nice. I wouldn't call it respect, more like admiration. But as I said before, I just like our cars and if others like admiring them as well, it's all good.

I get ya, the problem is you aint putting 'admiration' and 'respect' in the same sentence! Iam a "fan" of SL but if its one car I have been dreaming of whole my life and there it is stopped next to me by the traffic lights definately as ROB experienced, I would either nod at you or just touch the tip of my hat!... Iam not worshiping kind of respect but a "Wow big man thats the real machine you are commanding!" kinda respect. Again not go-green envy "I wish I can blow your f**king brains for driving that car!" But just appreciating that man thats some achievement especially when a car does come in cheap bits!

As for your area having X5s all over like Japanies Corollas, well, still there must be some people who admire and nod (internally!) at you unless you stay in Abu Dhabi where even school kids go to school in X5s! (Then I wouldnt definately be driving one, I would be sheikh Josh in a Lambo or something!)...

No man! Those tyres suck! Forget about comfort, this is not a Land Rover! X5 need to look like an X5! People need to turn their heads but not to go yak! look at the tyres!

As for ROB enjoy the ride its one thing I looked forward to to get even now after driving it for almost a year Iam feel proud, I even catch myself admiring my own car! So go change those ballons and put on some nice sleeky shoes for your baby!
