Check Side Lights

I get the message "Check Side Lights" ever so often when I turn the ignition off. This started happening when I installed the HID fogs.

Anyone had this issue?

When you installed the HID kit did it come with error-cancelling harnesses or something similar? If not, go back to the place you got them and ask for them. You can also search on other options that other people used here on the forum.

Others experienced varying problems:

Things like the fog lights flicker at startup, won't start-up until after several tries, dash lights flicker, get message saying to check the fog lights.

Usually the check side light message is related to the angel eyes on '04 plus models.

ah ha! looks like the left side angel eyes are out.
My foglights HID kit was the 55 watt one, so I think I am good there.. i will monitor after changing out the angel eyes bulb.

soooo.... where exactly is this bulb? and what is the forum recommendation on what bulb to use to change the color of the rings to match the 6000K fogs...
budget is <$60
thanks !!

ha. i guess no one answered my question about the angel light bulb replacement since this topic has been beaten to death here... lol.

I will just get the OEM replacement and call it a day. Too many issues with tryiing to change this feature for under $100.

You can find the angel eye bulb under a cap on the headlight assembly like this:
ImageBam - Fast, Free Image Hosting and Photo Sharing

Its harder to get to access the driver side because of the brackets and such.

If your budget is under $100, best thing to do might be to get one of those ebay ones:

I think there's another option for around $150 but forgot the name. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find it. If you still can't find it, lemme know.

Good luck.

I bought these and haven't had a problem yet. They aren't 6000k but the match color wise and are noticeable at night and look way better than stock.

just ordered these today. Called the number listed, really nice guy--pointed him to this forum!

ohh and a question. to get to the drivers side angel eye bulb looks pretty tedious, did anyone take anything apart or just squeeze their hands in there?
