My new (To Me) 2004 X5 Sport/Premium

Just got this, i LOVE it, absolutely loaded to the brim with options.
Only have a couple questions and problems.
1. Folding mirrors will fold, and open back up right away.
2. The drivers door closes fine, but makes a loud noise even if i close it gently, usually happens on a hill or ramp area.
If any one can help me out with those two problems, any help will be appreciated..

2005 BMW X5 4.4i. Olivine Green, all the bells and whistles like navi and DSP.

SORRY FOR THE SIZE OF THE PICTURES I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO GET THEM SMALLER.

Hey Turks. I too have have a '04 4.4 and have experienced the same issue with the mirrors. As you know they have a power fold option however if the mirrors are not in the exact position they need to be in, typically one mirror will fold and the other (the mirror that needs to be adjusted) will not. If you simply adjust one of the mirrors with your hands gently pushing in or out and then retry the power fold option that seems to work for me. I think what happens is people bump into the mirrors in parking lots etc. and it nudges them out of place (which is one reason why BMW has the power fold option).

Welcome. I believe there is a DIY on the main page with instructions on fixing the mirror problem yourself, it is likely a motor/stop issue inside. If not I know it has been covered in another thread locatable through a search. The above suggested fix might take care of it being slightly off, but otherwise you'll likely have to dig deeper. I had mine done at the dealer when it was still under warranty. The doors always sound like they are being slammed to me, but I'm not sure what can be done about that as soft close wasn't an option.

Turks4.4-

Really nice X. Are you keeping the 19" style 132's? I like the look the of those and considering buying some for mine. Are they staggered or same size all around?
Maybe you could post a couple more exterior pics?

Welcome and nice X5!
1. The power folding mirrors have a microswitch to feedback mirror position. The actuating lever on the microswitch can "fall off" causing the problem you describe. You can repair this yourself but may need to open both mirrors to find which switch is causing the problem. Here is a how-to post with some pics. Instructions for opening the mirrors here.
2. Check the door seals are not worn out and the door card is not loose/unfixed.

The 19" 132's will be kept for a bit, and yes they are staggered.
I know i have air suspension, but stealer said not to over use it, so i just let it stay on normal..
I am planning on getting the 4.8 style rims, but i cant seem to find ones that are in the condition/shape i'd like them to be.
I will have to take a look at fixing the mirrors at home, stealer wants like $1000-ish.
And same goes for the door.
Thanks =)

Turk.

Does anyone know where i can get 4 rims style: 215?
OEM or replica it doesnt matter, im located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, so it must be local or able to ship to my location.
The bmw dealer here wants $8600 for the set with rubber.. i dont need the rubber.
