Newbie questions...

Proud owner of a 2003 X5 3.0i recently. This makes my 4th BMW.

Questions:
1. Can I change the Xenon low beam bulb myself w/o great difficulty.
2. Can I change the cabin filter myself?
3. Anyone have a used Bentley manual for sale cheap?
4. How about a used rear cargo cover in tan/beige?
5. Chrome exhaust tips for the same? Got some from BavAuto but they would not go over the OEM exhaust tip ends.

As a first time X5 owner, and this one has 80K miles and has been nicely maintained, what are some of the MOST important things I need to do/look at?

I look forward to posting on this forum and talking with the X5 community!

cabin air filter is super easy to change. Open hood -- look towards windshield, note 1/4 turn fittings and a cover like structure in black and proceed.

Bentley is a good deal at full price if you do one maintenance item or two you've paid for it in full.

You can replace xenon bulbs yourself but I don't know the exact procedure.

Bulbs are easy as well. Just look in the engine compartment and find the back of the bulb. Counter clock wise 1/2 turn and they come right out. Not sure if there is anything in the way on the 3.0, but you might need to move the intake or something to gain access.

Cabin filter yes, bulbs no

Thanks. Got the cabin filter checked out and it's a new one, as is the air filter. So I think the truck been serviced very recently i.e. just before I bought it.

The bulbs are a different story. I see three torx screws holding the rear "bucket" of the Xenon low beam and I see no other way to remove said bulb without taking this plastic part off. There is a side entrance for the power cable but no way is a bulb coming through that hole.

It just looks to me as if that rear cover has to come off to reveal the Xenon bulb and connector?????

Cargo cover found

So found a great cargo cover on eBay. Made a deal for 125.00 shipped! Wow, that's a low price.
