Question How to set window regulator to motor position?

I changed broken front left window regulator and now the window doesn't go all the way down. It's sticking out about 1,5-2cm. When I switched the motor from the old one to new one, position was about the same. (aligned to access holes) Is there a secret to synchronizing the position when mounting the motor to new regulator?

It stops via resistance once it hits rubber feet at the bottom of the window track. Not to be rude, but you either did something wrong or something could be sitting in the track preventing the window from going it full distance of travel.

Even though you've got a new regulator, did you do MrBMWX5's window fix? If not, look for the posts about it...I've done it to old and new regulators to give me a bit more life.

Thanks for your reply. I inspected the door and there is nothing at the bottom or in the track preventing it to go all the way down to rubber feet.
What I don't know is whether the motor is infinity motor and UP and DOWN stops are achieved due to resistance, or the motor has stops even if run disconnected from the regulator.
I watched a video on youtube, I think E46 rear window replacement and the motor had UP stop when running freely. But E53 motor is mounted to regulator prior to regulator installation.

So basically it doesn't matter in what position the regulator lifters are when mounting a motor, or is there some synchronization process like running motor freely all the way up (or down) until stop + turning the regulator manually all the way up (or down) and then mounting the motor to regulator?

I got it working.
Removed the window, and ran an empty regulator all the way down. Removed the regulator again and inspected the tracks. Front was all the way down to rubber stop. Put it back in, ran about half way up, then all the way down to stop and back up to align access holes. Mounted the window and it goes all the way down now. Don't know what went wrong the first time.
