Sorry for the crappy cell phone shots. The car needs to stay another night or two at the dealer before I can fetch her, as the dealer is a good 60 miles from my house.

The car is in simply amazing shape. It honestly looks and drives like a 3 year old CPO car would. In fact, it was a former CPO car and I have the service records going back to day one - all BMW dealer work from 2 different Bay Area dealers. Local Northern CA car with 3 owners. It's about as good an example as you could find. I was more than happy to pay a couple $K extra for a car in this condition and with this history and records, not to mention full mechanical refresh on everything currently wrong so it is starting off in tip top shape. They even gave me a full 1 month warrantee on it, and this seems like the kind of dealer that stands behind their used BMW's too. Weatherford in Berkley - I highly recommend them.

Looks good! I love the M-Parallels. There is just something about the 7 that makes it feel expensive. It isn't just the obvious stuff, but it is in the little details as well. Everything about the car just feels substantial if you know what I am taling about. It is somehting you just dont get in a 5 or a 3.

I agree with the license plate delete. If you don't need a front plate in your state, it really cleans up the front of the car. I added that to my e36 years ago.

CA requires a front plate, but I don't normally run one.

That is what put me in the 7 over a E39 540 touring - the 7 is just such a nice car to drive and I have wanted a proper "Q-ship" long distance highway cruiser for some time now, and this fits the bill perfectly. I have owned 2 each 5 series and 3 series, one each was an M model. And the 7 is a lot more car than any of those cars (well - arguably the E39 M5 was probably the best sports sedan ever made in it's own right). As far as I am concerned it is a major upgrade from the 09 G37 sedan that I sold to open up the garage space for it, despite the fact that the 7 only cost half what the almost new G37 was worth. I know it will cost more to keep on the road, but that's OK with me, plus I can do most of the work on it myself and it's a labor of love to some degree - I don't mind.

oh - it was funny too, as I was standing out by the car parked in front of the dealership there were several people walking by - customers - who were all eyeing the car and most made comments about how nice it was. You just don't see many E38's in this condition any more. I swear it looks new.
