Outer CV Joint Boot

I've got a pretty good shop close by. I need to replace my right front outer CV joint boot. Is this a straight forward job for a local shop? In other words, I don't want to drive 50+ miles to nearest stealer to get this done. I got the boot kit from BavAuto. Thanks.
I've just about got this X5 whipped into tip top shape now. This is about all that remains to be done--hopefully.

Amacman: thanks for the great info and DIY info. I will print all this material and present it to my mechanic. This should allow him to repair with no worries.
Thanks again.

Stopped by a friend shop for lifting the X, I just finished replacement outer CV Boot for both sides yesterday by myself - driver side took 90 minutes and passenger side took about 50 minutes to complete. This is not a bad job at all.
