hahahah, I have one too!
Someone asked why would you buy this over an E46 M3? If its not obvious to you, the Z3 MCoupe is one of the most unique BMWs, if not cars in general, that still gets 100x more looks and compliments today than the dozens of E46 M3s you can see any given day. It is truly one of the few modern classic bmws (E30 M3 withstanding) that you can still obtain, if you're lucky enough to find one. They're not for everyone and the people who own them are their own special breed. I'm in the process of restoring mine as we speak.

I always wanted a 2001 M Coupe, in blue. Looked at a few, but never seriously. I don't think they re ugly, just distinctive, in the same way as a Volvo P1800ES is distinctive. They certainly get lots of looks.
Don't know that I'll ever get one, I dont' need a project now. And if I did get an older BMW, I think I would rather have a silver Z8.

JCl. Ok, I concur about it being distictive and getting the looks. And that Volvo, ummmm. Yeahhhhh. I'm with ya though, I look at cars every once in a while and when I do I always get an itch to look for another Z32 TT or, or, or, should I say it? A V-12 E31? I always liked the E31 but, I've heard horror stories. But there are always 2 sides of the spectrum. I don;t know a lot about BMW's v12 design but some say it is the best engine ever produced from BMW and some say it is a slop fest with plaguing problems that cost a minimum 2K the minute you step in the dealership.

Funny, a friend of mine had an a nearly identical M Coupe with Dinan badges. He was a former BMW dealership owner, and had the M Coupe with the S54 engine and all kinds of Dinan work done. Same color and everything. Wonder if its his old ride...

Why yes, that is the very friend I was speak of. I thought it was an S54 as he had waiting to have the work done, but I might be mistaken.
I can't say its the best looking BMW ever made... but hideous is a word I reserve for anything Mitsubishi makes
