Your sunroof seals are worn, and the water is coming inside via the sunroof. Depending on how you park (as in the angle of the car) will determine if/when water comes in.
In my 2006 4.4i with pano roof, I only get water leaking in when the front is parked down hill and we get a heavy rain. Most of the time the water drips from the overhead lighting area onto my shifter and cup holders. |

Thanks for the quick reply. I did think about that and put some painter's blue tape around the perimeter of the glass. Even though the floor was wet, the tape was dry. Could that happen if the seals on the Pano were bad ? Thanks again ed |

Could be coming through your door, you will need to remove the door card and check the inside of the door for water collecting. Check the foam membrane has not got any rips in it as the water can come through and wet the carpet.
Firstly I would try poring water over the outside of the door and then have a look to see if water has started to collect on your mat. Phill Sent from my iPod touch using Tapatalk |

Its possible. If you search the forum (I think I searched for the words water + leak) there are some posts on this in the past. I guess its pretty common for the gasket to more or less dry rot and no longer hold a water tight seal. The water leaks in, and depending on the angle the car is parked, drips to one of many locations. Some get water in the trunk, others in the passenger footwells (your not alone) some in the cup holders.
When mine was dripping on me, as in on my way home and water just dripping from above, the trim of the headliner to the sunroof area was bone dry. |
