I just sold my pre-facelift tail lights where I had drilled one and fitted a rear view camera and fitted the 04-06 tail lights...(much nicer)..No ,I am not offtopic....to replace my camera ,I just bought this Car Rear View Reverse Backup Camera For BMW E46 & X5 - eBay (item 250701178316 end time Dec-22-10 09:31:39 PST)

I checked the measurements of my license plate bulb and they coincide with the measurements the seller put in the listing!Will post back when I get it
