Do you have an independent mechanic nearby? he should be able to give you OEM alternator installed for less; probly 25% to 30 % less than a dealer

Does the 3.0 have a water cooled alternator like the V8 models?
I replaced mine about 4 months ago with a local shop rebuilt that cost under $200. And several hours of labor myself. Not hard to do just time consuming. If you can't do the work yourself then you gotta pay. Glad they matched the price for you so you saved a little.

bavarian autosport about $400 for the water cooled alt. Pretty easy job for anyone with garage.
