James, your bike is sweet!!! Back to the original post, I only have my car key... nothing else. I did it at first to not scratch the dash, then I learned it was hard on the switch. I also like not having stuff in my pockets.
I would have a 1000RR if given the opportunity. One day... one day. 17 more payments on the Benz and its mine. (X has a ways to go)

i like loud exaust on bikes, cus it makes us more visable and sometimes more hp. myself i have duals, one on each side going all the way back with fish tails no mufflers. its loud but not real loud. and i like the nostalgic look.
i dont ride with anyone i dont know. seen too many accidents within the pack riding with unknowns. also my 80 flh has 107k on it. (2 valve jobs and 1 set rings.) runs great. my heritage has 20ish K on it. a few "foreign" bikes early on and im over 150k miles on a bike. (this year.... maybe 50 miles nursing a work injury). i dont let any fattys on my bike either lol

Both groups are horrible to be around on the road, imo. The sport bike guys are the ones who will tailgate the hell out of you then pass between cars on the highway. The cruiser guys are the ones who tend to ride in packs in the fastlane and wont let you pass. However, they will speed up when you try to do so. They both suck, just in different ways.

I never understood the broad brush that some paint with when it comes to bike riders, based on a bad road experience or two...that goes for some riders too

James...sorry to hear about your friend man. Be safe out there.

When you are typing your response, look lower down your screen at the box titled Additional Options. Select Manage Attachments. Pick your photo files, one at a time. Pay attention to the size limits for each type of file. Press upload.

You can link to photos stored on the web, but the above is easier.

Thanks for the help

Today the USMC celebrates it's 235th Birthday.

All the best H.
You're fine Helmuth, everyone everywhere thinks their country is the best...it's understandable. Hell, over here in the US we're even as seperated as which is better...west coast or east coast.

Thank you sir. This winter it will be getting torn down to the frame (again) so I can powder coat it black, wheels will become a dark burgundy and then custom fairings. I love my bike, but the blah frame makes it look dated.

The S1000RR is a beast. I rode it once back in Seattle, but it is like most BMW's...runs hot as hell and cooks your twig and berries

Mine is duals as well...ceramic coated from the headers back, polished mufflers. Many mistake it for a GSXR because it has similar graphics styles, but the true dual exhaust and engine are completely different seeing that it's a v-twin.
