x5 electrical trouble
does anyone know how i reset it last time because i dont. I dont have any ipod or any of that i just have the sat nav and disc changer.

It was probably a power reset that got it working, maybe try pulling the battery's ground cable for a few minutes.

There is some kind of problem, and on vehicles with so much electronics tied together it only takes one problem to cause multiple issues... I would consider bringing it to the dealer for a full diagnosis, but make sure you give the tech all the details you can about the problem because that makes all the difference in the world.
Example: I just fixed a car on it's second visit because on it's first visit it was written up as "rubbing sound upon acceleration". I test drove it a few times and couldn't hear anything. When they came back I talked to the customer and found out it is more of a shudder feel when accelerating from 35 to 40 mph after driving for at least 30 minutes... BIG difference. I ended up putting a new transmission in the car under warranty.

mine did the same thing last year. brought it to a dealer for a check. turned out to be the nav unit. it also fried the cd changer and the battery. this happened the morning after a bad lightning storm. i wondered if the vehicle was surged by a close lightning strike. i ended up upgrading the nav unit from an '02 cd model to a '09 dvd (works much quicker)and swapping out the 6 cd changer for an ipod. (beats going to the back to change a cd.
