alright, from what little research i did, i figured out that the bulb base for this specific one is a BA9S

if you do a google search, i found these "hyper white"

Thanks, forgot to put the base size in the original post. I have both of those bulbs you found. The Polarg's are whiter but nowhere near the brightness they state, probably less than the stock. The LED's have the same issue, but probably even dimmer than the Polarg's. I have one more idea I'm going to try, but my thought is that I'm going to melt the housing. But hey, it's $20 for a replacement. Fire up the heater and let the fun begin!
