ecu re-map for better MPG

Hi,

I want an ecu re-map for better fuel consumtion and wanted to ascertain whether there is such as thing rather then for better performance?

What are the typical gains if a re-map is done

At the moment I get about 23mpg urban driving

Thanks in advance

An Ecu remap for economy will also give much better performance. The torque limiters/revs are adjusted so that you get more torque at lower revs, letting the engine work better at these revs.Lower revs ,,better mpg.

However,if you are getting 23 mpg, something is wrong! You should be getting 30-35 mpg with or without a remap.
23 mpg is worst than a 3.0i and getting near 4.4 levels...

Before doing a remap, make sure your car is running nicely as standard.

Yeah man,
I assume you're referring to a Diesel.Where on Earth 4.4i gets 23mpg in urban driving?with a lot of luck and a tail wind you'll get such a thing on the highway.

Members here report getting from a 3.0i anything from 15 to 26 mpg. Some regularly get 20 + mpg!

23 mpg from a 3.0 Diesel is definitely not in the 30 to 35 mpg most members are getting here!

Hi,

Its a 3.0d sport and the computer reads about 23mpg urban.

I fill the tank(£108) and get on average 430miles. Is this about right or am i missing out on something.

I cant see ever getting 30mpg on a standard 3.0d sport!

23mpg (I presume you are talking imperial gallons) isn't unreasonable for urban driving with a 3.0d, depending of course on your exact driving environment and your driving style. On the highway a 3.0d can better 30mpg (again imperial, not US gallons).
