Aux Heater
I was rubbing my hands together as I left the house at the thought of getting into a nicely warmed up car. But it was cold. The temperature felt just like nothing had happened. Any ideas ? Have I done something wrong or missed something ?

Been done to death this one but Have you got Aux heating or Aux vent? What does it say on your screen? I did the same as you last year only to find a cold car

Could you feel and smell exhaust fumes from the left side of the car? There is a small exhaust outlet there.....

If it says Aux vent then its just cool ventilation. If it states Aux heating then its remote heating. You can buy a £35 maplin relay and remote that will enable yo to switch the heater on from say the house on those cold mornings.
hope this helps |

Looks like it's a cooler I've got as opposed to a heater, based on thedweeb's post. Fat lot of good that is in the winter then ey ??!

When does it switch from Vent to Heat? Is that depending on the outside temp or do I miss something here?

Manual says:
You can use this system to ventilate the interior and lower its temperature, using the blower of the automatic climate control. The independent ventilation system is operated via the Multi-Information display (MID), refer to page 85 or via the onboard computer, refer to the sepa- rate Owner's Manual. You can set two different times for the system to start; it will remain active for 30 minutes. You can also switch it on and off directly. Since the system uses a substantial amount of electrical current, you should refrain from switching it on twice in succession without allowing the battery to be recharged in normal operation between use. When a preselected activation time is set, the independent ventilation system is operational at outside temperatures above +60 7 (+16 6), or by direct switch activation. It cannot be switched on when the vehicle is moving. The air emerges via the vent outlets for the upper body. Therefore, the vent outlets must be open for the system to operate. No word on heating .... hm.. Regards, H |

![]() This option was mainly on diesels as they already have the webasto heater fitted which was put in to pre heat the heavy/thick oil in the diesel engines. However it was an option on petrol models but an expensive one due to needing the webasto. HTH
