CCV Valve Replacement
While pulling parts off the truck I noticed that the CCV has the foam jacket on it already. All the hoses have the insulation around them and the dipstick tube is good as well Should I still change out the CCV or leave it alone because its already been changed? Any help would be appricated!

Good idea to replace the CCV and all the hoses with the new insulated ones. You should check for oil leaks, check your fan belts, and tensioners, mass air meter boots.
call the shop at V & S Motor Service and Collision 718-229-6800 with any questions |

Love your pro active approach. But if you already have the updated CCV and have been religious with your oil changes, i dont really see it being to necessary to replace it.

Don't replace it. Clean it all out, and replace any hoses that are soft.

Well I went a head and replaced it any way. It was stamped with a year of 2003.
The original one had a rubber jacket on it. Looks like the jacket was added along with the insulated hoses. The new one I got is a foam cover and the hoses were replaced as well because I had them here. The manifold was a PITA to remove and to reinstall due to the manifolds pesky lower mount to the block! I actually ended up losing the nut somewhere in there. Anyone know the size of the nuts I can get a replacement? Its a 16mm but not sure of the thread size.

I don't know but did you check on realoem.com for a diagram? They typically have bolt types/sizes.

Tried that already and the dealer has it listed as "hex nut" with no size available...

Take it to an independent shop that won't mind popping the hood and comparing their nuts to yours. <insert juvenile snickering here>
