Will anyone be interested in this?

It's not a for-sale post, but I'm just curious if anyone would be interested in this product. I have friends running this business in China, and just wanna see how you mod gurus think about this.

Thanks for feedback in advance.

Hi,

not that I am mod guru but: if the police stops you here in Europe with red/blue/whatever headlights you might be cool but you pay - if you are really lucky they leave you without number plates.

Good luck,

H

Got ya!

I think I'll take off the devil eyes and leave only the angle eyes on it, if I'm thinking about selling this product in the US.

Please correct me if I'm wrong: projector lens became standard on E53 since 2002, is that right? If that's the case, there won't be too much market for this.

Thanks for the input, Helmuth!

If projector lenses are those lenses with a "bowl" that scatters light, then only the vehicles with xenon lights had them before 2003. After 2003, all vehicles had projector lenses, halogen or xenon equipped.

And to clarify on those lights, they are not HID lights but just regular halogens but equipped with a projector lens, right? Depending on the cost, it would be fun to play around with those if I could also change some options on the light itself. What I mean by that is to have red devil eyes, yellow angel eyes and 5000k headlights.

I have a 2002 3.0d - it had no Xenon and no projector lenses - maybe due to the non Xenon. You might need input from more expirienced guys here.

I think they are cool!
Would never put them on my X though. (street legal colors excluded)

If I had a show car I would consider it, as they stand out.
There is a night video, somewhere on the forum, of an X5 with programed lights doing some incredibly fast blinking patterns with all of the cars lights. I'm sure most here know what I'm referring to (plz link if you know where to find so LeiZ can see). This product would complement that video.
There are angel-eyes out on the market that can actually change colors, but I have never seen the red projectors.

Maybe the SEMA crowd?

Anyways thanks for showing!

I'd consider retro'ing a pair of these into the rear hatch or bumper so I could actually see what I'm backing up towards - the reverse light on my X is pathetically dim...

//Edit - ugh, nevermind - blue green or red only on the main color, would have to be white - Why don't they use standard Kelvin scale colors? 4300-5000K would be okay. As it stands, looks a little too "Fast and the Furious" to me. Does the same folks selling those also sell fake blow-off valves and enormous dash tach's that only plug into the cigarette lighter socket? =P -tidE\\

Thanks a lot, folks!!!

I think it's time to forward all your input over to my friends in China, and let him decide how to explore the US market.

Plenty of valuable information. This forum ROCKS!!!
