Nowhere near the max, I think maybe a Ditch Witch was the heaviest item. Just installed in Sept in time for a landscaping makeover. Only trouble was a blowout on that beautiful trailer in my avatar.

Just my $0.02! My personal experience (which I'm not implying is the norm) is that the X5 costs about $2k a year in repairs (not maintenance), most of which would be covered by an aftermarket warranty. Again that's just me and I wouldn't be suprised if there are people with 4.6is models that spend 1/2 as much and people with 3.0s that spend 2x as much.

And then some of us will spend way less than 1/2 of that mythical $2K figure. Like I spent maybe $200 in actual repairs not including maint over the last 1.5 years I have owned my 4.6is. I spent far more on my wife's 03 Mazda in fact, and it has similar miles on it. And I completely agree that the warrantee company is going to come out on top more often than not, just like the casino in Vegas. That is the business model, and they factor in actual repair costs and claims over a large group when determining their rates and since they are a profit driven business, I would not bet on them getting it wrong. That said, warrantee can be useful for a personal situation making it easier to predict repair costs and limit exposure to loss, but the odds are what they are.

I did spend a lot more on gas for the 4.6is vs. the Mazda tho.. Go figure that, eh?

To the OP - congrats and welcome to another Estoril 4.6is to the board!!

My favorite E53 color too, followed very closely by Imola and Lemans.

I am looking at possibly pulling 2 track bikes plus gear. The truck doesn't have a receiver yet, so I still have to look into that as well. Did you have to wire it yourself as well or does it have a harness to plug into.

Thanks, I finally got to play with the steptronic today. I was impressed! Looks like the Mustang is going under a cover.

OEM hitch is the way to go. Mine has one and the guy I bought it from used to tow an E36 M3 on an open car trailer with it with no issue at all.

Mustang under the cover? nah - I drive my vette all winter, just not on the really bad stormy days.

I have an 08 F150 as well plus two bikes. The mustang is an 04 (last of that body style) all original except battery and tires with 52,000 on the odometer so I want to keep it as clean as possible.
