X5 ABS Module

The DSC + Brakes + ABS lights on everytime i start the car so I took it to a mechanic that works on BMWs and he has a GT1.

Mechanic said the abs module will have to be replaced, it's definitely the abs module.

Someone please point me to the part number of the abs module for a 2004 4.4l x5. Thanks everyone!

Take yours out. Send it to BBA remanufacturing. Total cost is 225.00. Just did mine last week. Best deal considering a new one is 1000+.

the rebuilt ones do come with warranty

the thing is though, don't ask me how i know lol usually the abs unit itself leaks inside the module breaking the circuits in the module, you can get the module rebuilt and have the same issue not long down the road since it's not the module that's causing the problem, it's the unit itself. in that case best bet is to find a unit at a junk yard from a lower mileage car. new part is not worth the $. did i mention they placed it in the worst possible location? lol all cars have clearly wide open can easily be swapped, nooooo bmw makes it so you have to take your headlight out, replace your hands with japanese hands, and make room by moving the expansion tank while you work on those lines...

I'll pick up one whole unit tomorrow morning. It's from a 2004 x5 3.0 but realoem.com says they are interchangeable. 200$ for the whole unit is not bad.

speaking of japanese hands, try to get the numbers off of the unit without removing the headlight! it takes a very slim cam, long fingers, 10 seconds timer on the cam, you hit the button and slip the cam in and wait to see if the numbers are clear in the picture, if not, repeat!

ABS module

I am having the same issue - I am planning to take out the ABS module today and send it to a ABS module repair shop. I have a 2003 3.0 and the shops can not recognize the part number for some reason.

Same here.......I was leery of the rebuilt just due to circuitry itself...
Regardless, AFAIK, the oem's are remans as well, just no core charge.

Just another plug for Warranty Direct...
