Is it possible to swap your IS motor in place of my 4.4? How many miles on your x when it died?

Any info by anyone else to let me know if his motor could plug and play in my chassis.

the answer is yes. however, be advised that you will need much more than the just the motor. all the electronic goodies that make that alpina built motor roar will also be needed. most likely this undertaking would prove to be a financial bust. it would be easier to just buy the real car. hope that helps.

Sorry about your accident, and congrats on the new X5.

If your interior is black, I am in need of the trunk floor, the big piece that covers the spare. I just want to be put on the list with the rest of the vultures.

Thanks, Mike

Great question!!! And if I can ad to it.... Are you getting your $$$$ worth? I'm sure the 4.8 is more $ due to it just being newer, but if you have to "pay to play" how much better is the 4.8?

Would you do it if your 4.6 wasn't totaled.

Thanks.

Day and night difference and 4.8is has more torque on demand IMHO,
also more beefy sounding as well compared to a 4.6is.
I love the N62
