4.6/4.8 have the same wheel arch FLARES in the rear (arch lip in your words). Other models (most) dont have flares.

On the front all the stock X5 wheel arches (most) are the same (NO flares).

As far as the body, all the X5 models are the same - meaning the fenders and quarters are shared too (within their respective years).

So, no larger arches for the 4.6/4.8 vs other models - just rear FLARES added (not counting the front & rear spoilers).

My X is at the dealer getting the air suspension serviced,I got a 2010 335i loaner car,love it and i want them to take there time on the repairs.
