Looks like I bought a lemon.

Picked up a CPO 2005 X5 at the end of September with 50k miles. Here's the repair list so far.

New windshield (air leak) - Covered by the dealer
New mirror motor for right side - Covered by the dealer
New blower motor - CPO
Intake boot - On me
Rear hatch bumpers - On me
Rear hatch switch - CPO

CPO is up at the end of this week. I hope I've found all the problems.

At least the dealer has been good about covering the first two items. This X5 was CPO'd, but not by this dealer. But man, the little items add up fast on these vehicles.

That's what you consider a lemon?

Man, I wish I had your good luck with cars then.

That many things wrong with only 50k miles is not normal. At least not in my rather extensive BMW experience. My previous X5 had literally no issues until it went over 100k. My 530i had zero issues in 90k miles. My Z4 is at 40k miles with no issues other than a blown turn signal light and a minor tire problem. My 740iL had more issues than I could count, but that was "normal" for the E38.

If this is the end of the problems for 10 or 20k miles, I'll be happy. But I don't want to go back to the monthly trips to the dealer like I was in the E38. That got old and expensive.

That's not a lemon, that stuff comes with the territory when buying any used vehicle. You can't rely on a used car dealer to notice all the issues that you'd find after driving it regularly for a few days.

But if you still think you bought a lemon then I will gladly take it off your hands at a reduced price.

I've had the mirror replaced twice so far, once at 40k, then again at 80k. Intake replaced also.

Make sure there are no oil leaks, that can be a big expense in terms of time. They just spent almost 5 hours fixing one on mine, thank you cpo and extended maintenance. I had one at 43k also.

That does not seem too bad.
