BMW Value Line Parts
I have been reading up on BMW's program to offer prepacked service kits under their Value Line banner. These are OE parts, priced with significant discounts, for common service items. They are only offered for vehicles 4+ years of age, and the E53 has been added to the program. This program has been in Europe and other specific markets, but it appears to have made its way to the US. I haven't seen it in Canada yet, but that may be due either to a lack of promotion, or a decision to not offer discount parts.
The program is designed to face off against cheaper non-OE parts for older (I prefer the term 'seasoned') vehicles, keeping BMW competitive with the aftermarket in some high-volume areas. Value Line kits offered include pads (packaged with wear sensors); Service kits I and II (oil filter, microfilter, etc), and control arms (front and rear). Real OEM is showing the parts for the suspension when I looked. Has anybody used these kits yet? Any feedback?
