BMW Value Line Parts

I have been reading up on BMW's program to offer prepacked service kits under their Value Line banner. These are OE parts, priced with significant discounts, for common service items. They are only offered for vehicles 4+ years of age, and the E53 has been added to the program. This program has been in Europe and other specific markets, but it appears to have made its way to the US. I haven't seen it in Canada yet, but that may be due either to a lack of promotion, or a decision to not offer discount parts.

The program is designed to face off against cheaper non-OE parts for older (I prefer the term 'seasoned') vehicles, keeping BMW competitive with the aftermarket in some high-volume areas. Value Line kits offered include pads (packaged with wear sensors); Service kits I and II (oil filter, microfilter, etc), and control arms (front and rear). Real OEM is showing the parts for the suspension when I looked.

Has anybody used these kits yet? Any feedback?

Never heard of such a program, but the way you described it definitely peaks my interest for my X and Z.

Subscribing to this thread for any feedback...

I don't deal with Tischer, but I am interested in whether dealers will actively market these parts, only offer them on request, or not offer them at all. I didn't see a reference on the Tischer parts site, so I went to realoem and got the part numbers for the inspection kits, and the front control arm package, all in the Value Line parts. All those part numbers came up on the Tischer site.

I saw one US outlet actively marketing them: BMW Mass, in Peabody Mass. I don't know anything about them, and am not recommending them. However, they show pads only for my (retired) 2003 X5 at $137, and $102 for the same pads in the Value Line, packaged complete with sensor. They are reported to be the same part number Pagid pads. Worth following up on for anybody buying parts for an E53 at their dealer. For those interested, the Value Line parts are also available for E46 and E39 models.

They are, for E39 and E46 models, at least in Europe. Maybe they will follow, not sure.
