I have an 05 E53 and an iPhone 4 that paired quite easily for me. The voice control has worked when ever I use it as well.
Haven't really read the owners manual in regards to the Voice Control Dialing, (I usually just hit favorites and dial from there) didn't know you COULD voice dial... How do you do it...?  I'd be more than happy to try it for you.
