It' Works !!
Just as an update, for those of you that might do a search and come upon this thread in the future - SUCCESS !!
 I'm a happy camper !- Went ahead and pulled the trigger onna new iPhone 4 --- paired it up and uploaded the new phonebook from it to the X5... Voice Recog and Voice Dialing from the Phonebook names works flawlessly !!  ~ Livin' th' Handsfree Dream again !!   Thought it might be helpful for others ta know ... Aloha
