ABS, ecu's, throttle bodies, air mass meters, and catalytic converters or call them at (866) 573-2740. They charged me like $250 including shipping and all. I just had to pull my unit and send it to them. And who knows you may not have the same issue as I did. It was on my 01 4.4i that it happened to me.

ABS, DSC, BRAKE lights on...

Hi Collie and other members,

I have a 2003 X5 4.6is and seem to be having the same problems you had with your ABS module...

The ABS, DSC and BRAKE lights came on (and are now on all the time), no speedometer and the Transmission went into the failsafe program. twice, remaining in 4th gear until the car was parked and turned off.

My Indy mechanic (with his laptop and BMW diagnostic tools) ran several tests on the rear wheel sensors and seems convinced that the problem is a faulty ABS module.

We are not sure about the transmission issue... I am pretty worried considering the cost of replacing sensors, tranny, ...

ABS module: Dealer price is 3 000$ ++, Bosh replacement kit is like 1 500$...

Shoot... I am in Canada and wondering if I should give this BBA reman a try...

What do you guys thinks?

Thanks.

Hey, where you from in Quebec??
If your in Montreal I have a pretty reliable guy that works for a BMW dealership that does work at home and charges MUCH less than the dealership.

Salut!

I'm from Gatineau. Thanks for asking.

My mechanic is pretty good and very reasonable in labour, not at all like a dealership. I called BBA-reman this morning and they seem pretty cool. I described the symptoms, problems and I will send them my ABS module through FedEx. They charge 235$ to remanufacture it plus shipping and guarantee their work for two years. Since there is not much labour involved in removing the ABS module, I think it is worth a try instead of purchasing a replacement kit at 1 500$...

I'll keep you posted on developments!

Bye for now!
