I got my hatch springs today from Slovakia. Man I should have installed this long ago. It is going to be so nice now to just be able to pop the trunk. Although I fully expect someone is going to smack themselves in the face when trying to open it manually now.

for 20 or 30 bucks , I got mine about a month ago, every time I load up my tools ,its like this is sweet. and closing the hatch ain`t a big difference to me any ways.

Sounds like an upgrade in my future also very cool to see somebody else using their X5 for hauling tools. I get wrinkled noses all the time when I mention using for tools. Is this an additional spring as well as the air cylinders or just stronger cylinders. I've been wondering what's the point of the trunk button when the trunk releases automatically when unlocked.

Video? Photos?

Are these 'springs' the upgraded bump stops for the hatch? Or are they more powerful gas struts that lift the hatch without manual help?

Neither. These are springs that go on your existing struts.

Well... My pass rear brake caliper was occasionally seizing. I knew brake fluid was overdue, which I had in my mind, just never had time.
So last night, I prepared brake fluid flush.

Lifted the car, removed all wheels, remove as mush brake fluid from reservoir, filled with new fluid, connected pressure bleeder. Everything is set.

Pass rear, which is the furthest from master cylinder, connect hose and wrench to bleeder.
Tried to unscrew bleeder... no go. Tried little harder.... snap... ha...... skip this side for now and move on to other calipers.

All other bleeders are free. Except the problematic pass rear caliper.
Well.... since the broken bleeder is not leaking, I guess I need to get new remanufactured caliper. sigh....

I would spray it with penetrating oil and let it sit for a few hours and spray it again and let it sit overnight, drill a small hole so that you can try to turn it out with an easy out bit.

Use shrink wrap tubing to make it black. I'm going to add this function to my window I was hoping to find/figure out a local fix.
