I think front suspension are the same like other X5. Only difference on rear axle that is only one air suspension "Niveauregulierung für Hinterachse" (not pump in trunk), doesn´t have option comfort, offroad mode, sport version has only fixed heavy-duty suspension because it´s faster max. speed then non sport version (230 km/h to 208 km/h) and maybe different factory set of wheel camber (or something that, can´t remember), cause have 19" rims in base, different shocks absorber, stabilizer. But Lower, I don´t think so.

Me too always had sport package cars/Bimmers. I don't know if it's because I'm getting older or the roads quality degrades year after year, but I'm less excited about harsh rides these days. May be if it's comparable to 'low drop' springs (-1") I could live with that, especially if that means I can get the other goodies that come with the SP.
I think that rim diameter will be the biggest factor to ride quality in town, at least here. I really like the look of the 20" though. Decisisions, decisions...

Thanks for the info.
I knew that BMW SP cars were lower, but didn't know what BMW were doing on their SUVs when a sport suspension was installed.

Not always though -- My 4.4i Sport with front/rear air suspension appears lower than other 4.4i sport package X5s w/o front air sus.

That may or may not be but the front/rear air suspension was a separate option from the Sports package. It provides self-levelling and height adjustment (three position) whereas the rear-only air was simply a self-levelling system.

The suspension on my truck is stock. I should be more specific and say that the handling gives me the same amount of confidence as driving an e36 m3.
